...because I did the right thing. I didn't go. I went to work, and sent my partner a loving message or two during the day.
I once corrected Hope, when she said she'd ended our relationship - I pointed out I dumped her.
She, perhaps foolishly upon reflection, mentioned that she'd never been stood up, either.
Ha.
I hate doing the right thing, it always hurts...but at least this time it didn't hurt me :)

later this week I'm having a day off work to go visit an old flame.
I'm going into this not expecting to be introduced to her fiance, nor for us to be anything other than friends afterwards.
I'll be wearing my sauciest underwear, because who knows?

Stolen moments

I expect this post will cause an issue or two...
An ex of mine, who I'll refer to as Hope, has emailed me, and invited me to her up coming wedding.
In a brief period a few years ago when I was officially single, I met her. She was in this glorious moment in her life when she had decided that because she hated her (one day) ex husband, that she therefore hated all men.
We are still, in a very perverse way, despite her claiming to be straight and only straight these days, flirted a lot in the last few days via email.
And text. We've jointly decided that me going to her wedding is probably not a great way for either of us to spend a day, so she's suggested we meet. First thing one morning, so we can spend the day "reminiscing".
